The proposed development involved the removal of the existing external paintwork to reveal the original brickwork, removal of the internal staircase along the northern elevation and replacement with a new staircase to the south, refurbishment and fit out of the upper two storeys as commercial office space and the ground floor as a café. The ground floor refurbishment included  the removal of existing ground floor windows and metal roller door, partial demolition of the northern and eastern elevations to install new full height, paned windows and doors.

The previous  interiors of the site wer derelict and deteriorated. There were no original fitouts or finishes left within the ground or upper storeys with the exception of a single staircase. The replacement of derelict interiors with a café and commercial office spaces assist with the ongoing revitalization of Chippendale by attracting people back into the historic building and will ensure an ongoing use of the building which continues its commercial historical character.
