The redevelopment and restoration of two adjoining heritage listed buildings, including a former electricity sub-station and a disused office/warehouse building, employed an innovative solution to support and integrate the new building addition with minimal impact on the pre-existing heritage buildings.
The Development Application proposes to not only refurbish the existing heritage assets on the site, but also incorporate a sympathetic new tower addition allowing for circa 9,500m2 of commercial office space, and approximately 250m2 of retail premises within the new development.
A re-purposing of the former machine hall of the sub-station building as a mixed use arts and cultural facility will also form an integral part of the new development.
The development benefits from its close proximity to significant amenities that the Sydney CBD offers such as other landmark commercial buildings, the QVB, Martin Place, Barangaroo, Pitt Street Mall and accessibility to Bus, Rail, Light Rail & Ferry.
